The purpose is to create a friendly image of traditional markets that children can visit anytime, while promoting mutual growth between markets and customers through participation and experience programs that highlight the characteristics of each market.
At the ‘2023 Our Neighborhood Market Outing,’ various play culture experience events and performances for children will be held.
At Gireum Market and Jeongneung Market, where the event will be held on the 10th, activities such as ▲Magic Bubble Show ▲Bungseong Art ▲Jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking) ▲Rice cake pounding ▲Face painting ▲Roulette game are prepared.
At Dolgoji Market on the 17th, a variety of participation opportunities will be offered, including traditional game experiences, performances, prize events, and shopping experiences that can be enjoyed at traditional markets.
This event, planned under the supervision of each market’s merchants' association, was selected as a Seoul City public project. It is expected to be organized with more systematic and abundant content.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, “Through various events linked with the community, we need to enhance the intrinsic appeal of traditional markets so that consumers keep visiting,” adding, “Seongbuk-gu will also spare no support to revitalize traditional markets and small business owners.”
