Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Science University, 12th 'Nightingale Pledge' Ceremony
The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held the "12th Nightingale Pledge Ceremony" on the 12th.
About 400 people attended the ceremony, including nursing professors, 148 students taking the pledge, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology President Kim Young-do, representatives from the Busan Nurses Association, Hospital Nurses Association, hospital officials, and parents. The event proceeded in the order of opening remarks, candlelight ceremony, encouragement and congratulatory speeches, and celebratory performances.
The Nightingale Pledge Ceremony is a ritual where third-year nursing students, who are about to begin clinical practice in hospitals, publicly vow to uphold the ethics and principles of nursing.
Representing the students taking the pledge, third-year nursing student Won Jin-seon and 147 others recited the Nightingale Pledge, honoring Nightingale's noble spirit of sacrifice and pledging to serve and dedicate themselves to nursing care recipients, reaffirming their commitment as professional nurses.

The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology received a 5-year accreditation in the 3rd cycle nursing education accreditation evaluation conducted by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education, and was also selected as an excellent case institution for education in the "2019 Nursing College Clinical Practice Education Support Project" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
