'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' Lead Park Eun-bin and Film 'Decision to Leave' Win Baeksang Arts Awards

This year's Baeksang Arts Awards honors went to the film Decision to Leave and actress Park Eun-bin (Extraordinary Attorney Woo).

At the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony held on the 28th at Paradise City in Incheon, Decision to Leave won the Grand Prize in the film category, and Park Eun-bin received the Grand Prize in the TV category.

Park Eun-bin said in her acceptance speech, "I want to cherish the steps that Young-woo took, who acknowledged, accepted, and embraced her own life, for a long time."

She confessed, "I was very afraid thinking that how I portray (Young-woo) could be a great wound to someone. I had to verify every moment, every hour whether my fleeting thoughts about autistic people and lawyers were unconscious prejudices."

Park Eun-bin added, "While working on this project, I hoped to at least foster a kinder heart toward (people with disabilities) than before, and to help people recognize each individual's unique traits not as differences but as diversity. I am grateful for your interest and support in that journey."

In the film category, Decision to Leave won not only the Grand Prize but also the Best Director Award (Park Chan-wook) and Best Actress Award (Tang Wei), achieving a triple crown. Director Park was absent from the ceremony due to overseas commitments, so the production team and actress Tang Wei took the stage.

Night Owl also took home three awards: Best Work, Best Actor (Ryu Jun-yeol), and Best New Director (Ahn Tae-jin). Next Sohee received two awards in the screenplay category (Jung Ju-ri) and Best New Actress (Kim Si-eun).

In the TV category, Netflix original The Glory won three awards: Drama Grand Prize, Best Actress (Song Hye-kyo), and Best Supporting Actress (Lim Ji-yeon).

At the beginning of her acceptance speech, Song Hye-kyo reenacted a famous line from the drama, saying, "I got an award, Yeon-jin, I’m so excited right now." She expressed gratitude, saying, "I worked on two projects with writer Kim Eun-sook and received so much love. I think the glory belongs to both the writer and me."

Extraordinary Attorney Woo received the Best Director Award (Yoo In-sik) in addition to Park Eun-bin's Grand Prize. The Best Actor Award went to Lee Sung-min for his role in Reborn Rich.

YouTube channel 'Pisik University’s' Pisik Show won the Best Entertainment Program Award. Considering changes in platform environments, Baeksang Arts Awards selected YouTube content as nominees for the first time this year.

In the theater category, actor Ha Ji-sung, who has a brain lesion disability, won the acting award. Until last year, the theater acting awards were separated by gender, but this year only one award was given.
