Pyo Yerim "Impulsive Self-Harm to Stop Spread of Video Insulting Parents"
"Criminal Lawsuit Against Account Supporting School Violence Perpetrators"
Pyo Yerim, who confessed to being a victim of school violence on a broadcast, attempted an extreme act due to secondary harm but was rescued. On the early morning of the 24th, she revealed the background through a post on her YouTube community.
Pyo mentioned a video from the YouTube account "Pyo Yerim Gahaeja Dongchangsaeng," which represents the position of the school violence perpetrators, stating, "This video publicly insulted my parents. I know very well that this is an act that should never be done, but I impulsively self-harmed, judging it to be the only option to stop the video’s views from increasing."
Pyo said, "It was to draw attention to me rather than that video. I wrote a handwritten note saying, 'Even if I disappear on my own, I hope the law will be revised. I cannot allow any more harm to my parents. I am sorry,' and posted it on social media along with self-harm. Afterwards, due to a follower’s 112 emergency call, I was transported by ambulance and received treatment in the emergency room for 24 hours."
She continued, "Although observation and additional tests were needed for two days, I voluntarily discharged myself due to having a business I must take responsibility for, interviews, a schedule to visit my alma mater, and insomnia."
Additionally, she said, "I have to undergo additional tests at a hospital near my home tomorrow morning and the day after tomorrow morning," and added, "I will take a break from all YouTube activities except for the existing interview broadcast schedule and reserved customers."
She also announced legal action against accounts and videos that defend the perpetrators.
Pyo stated, "I plan to proceed with petitions and legal actions from now on," and said, "As a child, I will respond with criminal litigation through legal consultation to determine if it constitutes insult. Although I have not yet appointed a lawyer, I inform you that I will proceed with all possible civil and criminal responses without worrying about funds, even if it means incurring personal debt. There will be no leniency and no settlement. I just hope they accept their punishment."
On the previous day around 2:35 p.m., she attempted an extreme act at a hair salon she operates in Busan.
Pyo, a hairdresser and YouTuber, recently revealed on a broadcast, "I have been a victim of school violence for 12 years from elementary school through high school."
After the broadcast, a video titled "Revealing the identities of school violence perpetrators" was uploaded on the YouTube channel "Pyo Yerim Dongchangsaeng," containing the real names and graduation photos of the perpetrators.
Then, two people identified as perpetrators reportedly sent certified letters demanding the deletion of the video and an apology.

Pyo insisted that she has no connection with the "Pyo Yerim Dongchangsaeng" channel, saying, "I did not upload the (perpetrators’ identity disclosure) video.
