Gyeonggi-do Provides Up to 500 Million KRW Support for Energy Self-Sufficiency Facility Installation Costs
Gyeonggi Province will recruit participating institutions and corporations for the 'Citizen Participation Energy Independence Leading Project,' which supports up to 500 million KRW in project costs, from the 24th to the 28th of next month.
The Energy Independence Leading Project is a program that supports installation costs without restrictions on energy types, including renewable energy, solar power generation facilities, energy storage systems (ESS), and electric vehicle charging stations.
To promote citizen participation in energy independence and foster future new growth industries, the project is divided into two energy new industry business models.
This year, the province will invest a total budget of 1.5 billion KRW. Any city/county, public institution, or private corporation can participate. Up to 50% of the project cost, with a maximum of 500 million KRW, will be supported.
In particular, additional points of 10 and 5 are awarded respectively for the application of new technologies/new industries and social enterprises.

Along with this, the province is promoting the discovery of various new energy industries such as solar power generation facilities, Internet of Things (IoT)-based energy management systems (EMS), ESS, electric vehicle charging stations, and fuel cells, as well as activating private investment.
