What Is a 'Good Death'? Gimhae City Hosts Special Lecture by Forensic Professor Kim Jang-han
On the 17th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam held the 353rd Citizen Culture Lecture at the city hall's main conference room, inviting Professor Kim Janghan, a forensic medicine expert.
According to the city, Professor Kim earned his master's and doctorate degrees in forensic medicine from Seoul National University and is currently a professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Ulsan University College of Medicine. He is especially recognized as an authority in the field of forensic medicine.
He serves as the president of the Korean Society of Forensic Medicine, president of the Korean Society of Medical Law, and vice president of the Korean Society of Medical Ethics, actively working in the fields of medical law and medical ethics.

On this day, Professor Kim delivered a lecture titled "How Is a Good Death Possible?"
He discussed the concept of a "good death (well-dying)" at the final stage of life and shared cases related to the Act on Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment, introducing what needs to be known to design a good death.
