Gwangju Seo-gu and Gwangju Design Promotion Institute Sign Mutual Cooperation MOU
Seo-gu District of Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Design Center have joined hands to successfully host the Gwangju Design Biennale and the Yeongsangang Seochang Field Silver Grass Festival.
On the 14th, according to Seo-gu, Kim Yi-gang, head of Seo-gu, and Song Jin-hee, director of the Gwangju Design Center, signed a business agreement at the Seo-gu Office Nanum Hall.
Gwangju Seo-gu signed a mutual cooperation MOU with the Gwangju Design Promotion Agency.

Through this agreement, the two organizations pledged to spare no effort in jointly promoting and supporting the 10th Gwangju Design Biennale, opening this September, and the 8th Yeongsangang Seochang Field Silver Grass Festival, scheduled for October.
Both organizations also agreed to strengthen efforts to enhance cultural and artistic enjoyment for local residents, revitalize regional culture and arts, and foster the design industry.
Kim Yi-gang, head of Seo-gu, said, “I hope the Gwangju Design Biennale and the Silver Grass Festival will establish themselves as representative festivals of Gwangju and, further, of our country. Taking this cooperation with the Gwangju Design Center as an opportunity, we will also work harder to create ‘Seo-gu, a cultural city and living government where rest, leisure, and music flow.’”
Director Song Jin-hee said, “I hope the Design Biennale and the Silver Grass Festival become representative brands of Gwangju City that citizens enjoy, and that this cooperation between the two organizations becomes even stronger.”
