Alumnus Elderly Couple from Samyuk University Donates 50 Million Won to Alma Mater
Sahmyook University announced on the 9th that the alumni couple, Ki Young-song, former principal of Sahmyook Middle and High School, and Oh Nam-sook, former principal of Sahmyook Elementary School, generously donated 50 million KRW to the development fund.

View original imageBoth graduated in 1965 from institutions that are predecessors of Sahmyook University: Ki from Sahmyook Industrial Junior College and Oh from Sahmyook Theological College, and then began their teaching careers. Notably, Oh was the first female principal of the Sahmyook Academy school foundation.
The couple donated 10 million KRW from Oh’s retirement severance pay in February 2005 as a scholarship fund for theology students at Sahmyook University. Starting from this, they contributed an additional 10 million KRW in 2019 and 50 million KRW this time, totaling 70 million KRW donated to their alma mater so far.

The couple stated, "During our university days, we received scholarships funded by many generous donors, and we thought we would donate when we had the means. Although personal circumstances delayed us, we are happy and grateful to have kept our commitment, even if belatedly."
