Mercury Acquires IoT Specialist Company IJECS
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Mercury, a specialized information and communication equipment company, announced on the 22nd that it has acquired a 50.14% stake in IoT specialist company IJECS.
Mercury and IJECS quickly reached an agreement by finding a consensus that they could maximize the strengths of both companies to create business synergy, and they aim to develop into a total solution provider for home appliances and enterprise IoT businesses in the future.
IJECS has focused on energy management systems (EMS) and smart home IoT fields for over 20 years, and as a company with top-level technology in short-range IoT communication fields such as Zigbee, it has supplied and operated smart home and enterprise IoT products domestically and internationally, including providing solutions to US-based GE.
Recently, Thread technology of Matter, which has become a global standard for home IoT, has evolved based on Zigbee, and it is expected that IJECS will be able to provide the most stable quality products in the Matter field going forward.
In particular, energy management/control has been gaining attention recently due to instability in resource supply, and since IJECS has about 20 years of business know-how in energy utilization efficiency and energy management/control fields by integrating IT technologies (sensors, communication, software), it is expected to achieve visible results through collaboration with Mercury.
Currently, energy management systems are undergoing pilot projects domestically and overseas, and with Mercury's investment, it is expected to further expand into a high value-added knowledge information energy-saving service industry leading the global market.
