A unique terrain on Mars that closely resembles the popular character 'Teddy Bear' has been discovered, drawing attention.

View original imageNASA and the University of Arizona released this photo taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) on the 25th. The round outline has two bear eyes precisely positioned, and the rock in the center resembles the bear's mouth and nose. The MRO captured this photo on December 12 last year from an orbit 251 km above Mars. The University of Arizona research team believes this terrain is likely the remnant of a broken vent at the center of an ancient crater.

The research team explained, "A V-shaped collapsed structure (nose), two craters (eyes), and a hill with circular crack patterns," adding, "The circular crack patterns may be due to sediment deposits over the impact crater."
