Samsung Electronics Recruits Kang Shin-bong, Former Yogiyo CEO... "E-commerce Expert"
[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] Samsung Electronics has recruited Kang Shin-bong, former CEO of Yogiyo, as Vice President in charge of online sales.
According to the business community on the 16th, Samsung Electronics recently appointed Vice President Kang as the head of the newly established Global Marketing Office D2C (Direct to Consumer) Center. The D2C Center was created by Lee Young-hee, who was promoted to president in last year's executive personnel reshuffle and is the head of Samsung Electronics' Global Marketing Office, by consolidating the company's internal online business organizations.

Vice President Kang is an e-commerce expert who led eBay Korea's acquisition of Gmarket. He has served as Chief Marketing Officer for eBay China and Asia-Pacific cross-border trade business. In 2017, he was appointed CEO of Yogiyo and resigned in May last year. With Kang's recruitment as center head, it is expected that efforts will be made to strengthen strategies and brand image enhancement in the online market.
