Positive Rate of Short-Term Entrants from China at 8.8%... Single Digit Maintained for Three Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] On the 15th, the positive rate of entrants who underwent immediate testing at the airport after departing from China was found to be 8.8%.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 16th, among 1,196 people who arrived at Incheon International Airport from China the previous day, 228 short-term foreign residents underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing at the airport testing center, and 20 (8.8%) were confirmed positive. The airport test positive rate has remained in the single digits for three consecutive days, at 5.5% → 8.7% → 8.8%.
Since the 2nd, a total of 19,115 people have entered the country through airports from China. The cumulative positive rate for short-term residents at airport testing is 15.0% (580 out of 3,855), steadily decreasing since the first day of testing (20.4%).

Meanwhile, the total number of overseas imported confirmed cases on this day was 64, down 40 from the previous day (104). Among them, 41 (64.0%) were entrants from China, including short-term foreign residents confirmed positive at the airport testing center and Chinese nationals and long-term foreign residents confirmed positive at public health centers.
