Consumer Agency Issues Warning on Shopping Mall 'Beauty Hero' for Delivery and Refund Delays
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Mr. A purchased cosmetics worth 92,300 won from the online shopping mall ‘Beauty Hero’ last October. Since then, the delivery has been delayed, and despite multiple attempts to contact the company, there has been no response.
The Korea Consumer Agency issued a consumer damage advisory on the 14th, stating that consumer complaints related to Beauty Hero, which sells cosmetics at significantly discounted prices, are rapidly increasing.
Beauty Hero only reveals prices to registered members on its website, encouraging consumers to sign up. However, delivery and refund processes have continued to be delayed after transactions. Moreover, communication with the company is not smooth.
According to the Consumer Agency, the company was found to have no presence at the reported telecommunication sales business registration address or the office address displayed on the online shopping mall.
From the 1st of last month to the 11th, a total of 325 consultations related to Beauty Hero were received by the Consumer Counseling Center and the Seoul Electronic Commerce Center, with numbers steadily increasing. During the same period, 27 damage relief applications were submitted to the Korea Consumer Agency, all related to ‘delivery and refund delays.’

The Consumer Agency urged, “Since the shopping mall is still operating, consumers need to exercise special caution.” They added, “Consumers who have suffered from delivery and refund delays should contact the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center or the Seoul Electronic Commerce Center to receive guidance on how to respond,” and “If payment was made by credit card, it is advisable to immediately seek assistance from the credit card company.”
