A Man in His 20s Wielded a Weapon at a Neighbor Leaving His Home and Was Arrested by Police
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 20s who wielded a weapon at a neighbor without any reason was arrested by the police.
On the 28th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested and were investigating Mr. A (28) on suspicion of attempted murder.
Mr. A is accused of approaching his neighbor Mr. B (40) around 11:30 p.m. the previous day in a residential area of Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, and wielding a weapon at him as he was leaving his house.
Mr. B sustained a wound about 6 cm long on his back and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment; it was reported that his life was not in danger.
The police, who responded to the report, urgently arrested Mr. A at his residence based on witness statements.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A's family claimed that he had been suffering from a mental illness.
