The Miryang Citizens Scholarship Foundation announced on the 8th that Kim Ho-sang, CEO of hometown company Miryang Industrial located in Gimhae City, sent 10 million KRW as a scholarship fund for the development of hometown education, and tax accountant Lee Jin-hee of Tax Korea Tax Corporation donated 5 million KRW as a scholarship fund to support the cultivation of outstanding local talents and prestigious schools.
CEO Kim Ho-sang (74) was born in Jukwol-ri, Muan-myeon, Miryang City, and has a special attachment to his hometown. He has been quietly sponsoring scholarships since 2015.
Even in the era of COVID-19 and the current high-interest rate period, when all entrepreneurs focus on securing financial soundness, he is actively donating for his hometown Miryang, setting an example for all hometown people and entrepreneurs.
Kim manages a core parts manufacturing company in the defense industry with annual sales reaching 9 billion KRW and is well known as a neighbor who spares no support for donations to those in need around him, serving as a role model.
He said, “I hope efforts will be made to create an educational environment where children in the hometown can study freely and plan their future,” and expressed his ambition, saying, “I will aim to donate 100 million KRW in scholarship funds.”
Tax accountant Lee Jin-hee (63), a native of Miryang born and raised there, is a tax expert who has worked extensively in national tax-related duties at the National Tax Service for over a decade. She operates the Tax Korea Lee Jin-hee Office in Miryang City and previously donated 5 million KRW in 2020 as a scholarship fund for nurturing outstanding talents.
