Chosun University Conducts Case-Based Human Rights Violation Prevention Education
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Human Rights and Gender Equality Center announced on the 18th that it recently conducted human rights violation prevention education for department heads and deans of each college.
The Human Rights and Gender Equality Center planned this education to provide guidance and present the role of administrators in creating a safe organizational culture, in relation to the recent ongoing controversy over provocative university festival menus at various universities.
The lecture was conducted for two hours by inviting Yang Yoonjeon, a representative labor attorney from Labor Law Firm Seogang. The main contents included ▲ the concept of human rights violations and discriminatory acts ▲ types and current status of human rights violations by each university ▲ overall matters regarding victim reporting and handling procedures ▲ education based on actual cases ▲ and the importance of victim recovery.
On the same day, the Human Rights and Gender Equality Center also distributed printed human rights violation prevention guides containing key counseling principles for students and sexual harassment prevention guidance during student supervision to foster a human rights-friendly university culture.
