Ex-Girlfriend Refuses Meeting, Then Imprisoned and Sexually Assaulted... Police Investigate Man in His 30s
A man in his 30s is under police investigation on charges of confinement and sexual assault after his ex-girlfriend refused to meet him.
According to the Seoul Gwanak Police Station on the 1st, the police are investigating a man in his 30s, Mr. A, for violating the Stalking Punishment Act, sexual assault, and confinement.
Mr. A is accused of waiting for his ex-girlfriend to finish work at a subway station in Gwanak-gu on the 28th, then following her home where he confined and sexually assaulted her.
It was found that Mr. A committed the crime after his ex-girlfriend expressed her refusal to meet him, but he continued to follow her and, when she completely blocked his contact, he carried out the offense.
However, Mr. A reportedly denies the charges of sexual assault and confinement.
The police applied to the court for a provisional measure No. 4 (detention in a detention center or jail for up to one month) after implementing safety measures for the stalking crime victim (personal protection measures).
