View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Seoul Semiconductor, a global semiconductor company, announced on the 15th that it has supplied its ultraviolet (UV)-C sterilization technology, Biorez, to the global luxury vehicle brand Genesis.
Biorez is a patented technology developed and mass-produced by Seoul BioSys, a subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor. It applies UV LED with sterilization functions to prevent the proliferation of bacteria and viruses.
Biorez has been applied to the UV-C LED lamp inside the armrest storage compartment in the rear seat of the Genesis G90. Depending on the vehicle model, 6 or 12 LEDs are installed inside, and when the lid is closed, it sterilizes up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria on personal belongings stored inside within 10 minutes.

A Seoul Semiconductor official said, “We operate our own automotive air and surface sterilization laboratory and are doing our best to develop UV LED sterilization technology,” adding, “We will lead the automotive interior healthcare market with Biorez technology.”
