Police Launch Internal Investigation on 'Drug Use Allegation'
[Asia Economy Reporters Jang Sehee and Gong Byungseon] Online allegations have surfaced claiming that singer Nam Taehyun used methamphetamine, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 21st, according to a compilation of Asia Economy's coverage, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul has begun a preliminary investigation (internal inquiry) into Mr. Nam, who is suspected of drug use.
Seo Minjae, who gained public recognition by appearing on Channel A's Heart Signal Season 3, claimed on Instagram the previous day that Mr. Nam had used methamphetamine.
After seeing the post, netizens reported the matter to the Gangnam Police Station and Yongsan Police Station on the same afternoon. The police confirmed that they have started an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances of the case.
On Instagram, Seo wrote, "Nam Taehyun used methamphetamine," adding, "There is a used syringe either in my room or the company cabinet. And he hit me." The post has since been deleted.
