The Third Series Featuring the Story of Laphroaig! Beam Suntory Korea Releases Limited Edition Single Malt Whiskey ‘Laphroaig 33 Years’
Beam Suntory Korea (CEO Song Ji-hoon) announced the release of the third limited edition of the premium single malt whiskey 'Laphroaig'.
The newly launched product is 'Laphroaig 33 Year Ian Hunter Story Book 3', a new limited edition series following the 'Story Book 2' released in April last year.
Laphroaig is a representative single malt whiskey from the Islay region of Scotland, characterized by its rich peat aroma and strong smoky scent. It is a whiskey with a distinctive intense finish.
With an alcohol content of 49.9% and a deep golden color, 'Laphroaig 33 Year Ian Hunter Story Book 3' uses a Non-Chill-Filtered technique and is aged for 33 years in bourbon casks. It offers a sweet aroma blended with eucalyptus and mint, along with a unique deep flavor and smokiness reminiscent of smoked ham, and the taste of citrus fruits. Particularly impressive is the sweet finish with a long-lasting floral and smoky scent.
The third limited edition product tells the story of Laphroaig Distillery's efforts to protect its water source, the 'Kilbride Stream', which previously caused a water dispute with a neighboring distillery. Following the positive reception of the stories about Ian Hunter, the last heir of the Johnson family, the founder of Laphroaig, and the history of Laphroaig products in Story Book 1 and Story Book 2, this new story is also attracting much attention.
