Over 170mm of monsoon rain fell in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province until the early morning of the 24th. Heavy rain will continue in Jeju Island until the 25th, and a heavy rain warning is in effect.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, although the low-pressure system has moved to the East Sea, due to the influence of the stationary front, Jeju Island, where a heavy rain warning is in effect, will experience heavy rain exceeding 30mm per hour accompanied by thunder and lightning until noon. Rain will continue until the afternoon along the southern coast and until tomorrow in Jeju Island. The stationary front is forming a long east-west band, prolonging the duration of precipitation.
By the 24th, 20 to 50mm of rain is expected in the Jeonnam region, southern Gyeongbuk region, and Gyeongnam region; 5 to 30mm in Gangwon Province, southern Chungnam region, Chungbuk, Jeonbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk. The southern coast will receive an additional 30 to 80mm of rain until the 25th. Jeju Island will see up to 150mm or more, and 50 to 100mm of additional rain until the 26th. In the late afternoon, isolated showers of around 5mm will fall in eastern Gyeonggi and inland/mountainous areas of Gangwon due to atmospheric instability.
The Korea Meteorological Administration lifted the heavy rain advisory issued this morning for Sejong, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, and Gangwon regions. The heavy rain advisory for Jeju Island was upgraded to a heavy rain warning.
From the previous day until the morning of the 24th, heavy rain exceeding 170mm poured in parts of Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province. Jangheung-myeon (Yangju), Gapyeong in Gyeonggi, Nami Island (Chuncheon), and Naechon-myeon (Pocheon) recorded 173mm; Onam (Namyangju) 164mm; Sinnam (Inje) 150.5mm; Daehwa (Pyeongchang) 141.5mm; and Seoul 122.1mm. Over 100mm of rain also fell in the Jeolla and Gyeongsang regions, including Jangsu 133mm, Gui (Wanju) 118.5mm, Imsil 114.5mm, and Buksang (Geochang) 106.0mm.

Due to the rain and strong winds since the previous day, property and human casualties occurred in various places. In Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, the ground subsided causing minor injuries to three pedestrians, and in Boryeong, Chungnam, two people were injured by falling plywood. Four houses were flooded in Ansan and Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, and one commercial building was flooded in Gapyeong. There were 34 cases of vehicle flooding in Gangwon and Gyeonggi Provinces, and soil erosion or stone wall collapses occurred. The Dangsan Interchange in Seoul and Gwangmyeong Station in Gyeonggi also suffered flooding damage. From 10 p.m. the previous day for about two hours, 1,722 households experienced power outages in the Sadang-dong area due to transformer malfunction.
