According to the fire authorities on the 30th, a report was received at around 8:49 a.m. that an electric bicycle battery exploded and caught fire while charging in a 30th-floor apartment in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu.
The flames were extinguished in about 20 minutes by a man in his 60s living in the house, but he suffered second-degree burns on his lower body, including his calves, while putting out the fire and was transported to the hospital.
