"Leading the Era of Ultra-Convergent IoT" ... Dongseo University Selected for Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Development Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Engineering Education Innovation Center at Dongseo University has been selected for the "Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Cultivation Support Project" organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
With this project selection, the Engineering Education Innovation Center will receive government funding of 900 million KRW over six years starting from 2022 to lead engineering education innovation for the College of Engineering and its students.
The Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Cultivation Support Project allows engineering colleges to independently establish directions for engineering education innovation.
It also develops and operates engineering education programs tailored to industry demands and university characteristics to foster creative engineering talents and enhance the global competitiveness of engineering education.
Dongseo University was selected for the third phase support project after successfully establishing short- and long-term specialized programs responding to industry demands, capstone design, and field practice programs as part of the 10-year second phase project starting in 2012.

From this year, the university aims to cultivate creative talents in IoT home appliances leading the era of hyper-convergence by building a linked cooperation network through ▲ demand-based future new industry curricula ▲ capstone design ▲ longitudinal self-directed learning ▲ establishment of technology startup foundations ▲ dissemination of engineering education innovation achievements and formation of industry-specific consortia, and plans to promote customized talent cultivation programs tailored to industry demands in the top 10 future new industries.
