MFDS grants first approval for 'Transparent Window' droplet mask... "Helps communication for people with disabilities"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 6th that it has approved masks with transparent windows as quasi-drugs.
The first transparent window mask approved domestically is The Joeun Co., Ltd.'s 'The Joeun Transparent Window Droplet Blocking Mask (KF-AD)'. It is a droplet blocking mask used for preventing droplet infection in daily life.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained, "This product has a transparent film window in the center of the mask that allows the wearer’s mouth movements to be visible when speaking, which can help communication for people with hearing impairments."
The ministry stated that considering the characteristics of the product, which uses new materials different from conventional masks such as transparent polypropylene film, it thoroughly reviewed the safety of raw materials and the liquid resistance of the finished product before granting approval.
