Hugel Botulinum Toxin Product 'Botulex' Approved in Romania
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Hugel announced on the 25th that it has obtained product approval for the botulinum toxin preparation 'Botulax (export name Retivo)' 50 Units from the Romanian National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (NAMMD).
Starting with the recommendation for product approval from the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA) in Europe in January this year, Hugel has so far acquired sales approvals in four countries including France, Austria, the United Kingdom, and now Romania, steadily progressing its initial plan to enter 11 major European countries within this year. On the 23rd, Hugel completed the first shipment for the European launch, marking the first time for a domestic botulinum toxin company, and is currently preparing for the local release.

A Hugel representative stated, “The European botulinum toxin market (for aesthetic use), which continues to grow at an average annual rate of 10%, is currently worth approximately 500 billion KRW and is one of the major markets accounting for 80% of the global aesthetic toxin market along with the United States and China. As product approvals for 11 major European countries are progressing smoothly, we will focus on rapid market establishment within these countries and continuously enhance our corporate competitiveness in the European medical aesthetic market through synergy with our existing HA filler brand already present in the European market.”
