Namwon-si Doubles Late Vehicle Inspection Fines...Up to 600,000 KRW
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on the 24th that starting from the 14th of next month, the penalty fees for delayed vehicle inspections will be increased due to the revision and enforcement of the 'Automobile Management Act' and its enforcement decree.
The penalty fee for delayed vehicle inspections will be doubled: from 20,000 KRW to 40,000 KRW if the delay is within 30 days; from 10,000 KRW to 20,000 KRW for every 3 days exceeding 30 days up to 114 days; and from 300,000 KRW to 600,000 KRW if the delay exceeds 115 days.
Administrative measures have been strengthened to issue a driving suspension order for vehicles that have not undergone inspection for more than one year after receiving an inspection order, requiring vehicle owners to exercise caution.
Regular vehicle inspections can be conducted within 31 days before or after the expiration date of the inspection validity period at vehicle inspection centers nationwide and private inspection centers (designated maintenance businesses).
The inspection validity period can be checked on the vehicle registration certificate or the Korea Transportation Safety Authority website, and advance notification text alert services can be applied for through the Korea Transportation Safety Authority website or call center.
