President's Office Relocation, Opposition 53.7% vs Support 44.6% [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A survey result showed that half of the respondents oppose the plan to relocate President Yoon Seok-yeol's presidential office.
On the 23rd, Realmeter conducted a survey commissioned by Media Herald on the 22nd targeting 500 men and women aged 18 and over regarding the 'relocation of the presidential office.' The results showed that 44.6% of respondents supported the move (30.4% strongly support, 14.3% somewhat support), while 53.7% opposed it (43.2% strongly oppose, 10.6% somewhat oppose), which is 9.1 percentage points higher than those in favor.
Those who answered 'don't know' accounted for 1.6%.
By region, opposition was particularly high in Gwangju and Jeolla, with more than 8 out of 10 people (85.2%) opposing, and also exceeded 50% in Chungcheong (59.4%), Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (58.5%), and Incheon and Gyeonggi (53.7%).
On the other hand, in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (60.6% support) and Seoul (58.4%), support for relocating the presidential office was higher than opposition.
By age group, opposition was highest among those in their 40s, followed by ages 18-29, 50s, and 30s, while those aged 70 and over showed a higher rate of support.
