"GS25 Opens 'Flagship Store' Featuring Industry's Largest Selection of 1,000 Types of Alcohol"
Jeonju City's 3rd 'Alcohol Specialty' Flagship Store 'GS25 Jeonju Main Branch' Opens
Displaying 1,000 Types of Alcohol Including 600 Wines, 300 Spirits, and 100 Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] A convenience store where you can directly encounter over 1,000 types of alcoholic beverages, from premium wines to local specialty liquors, has opened.
GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 13th that it has opened a liquor-specialized flagship store, 'GS25 Jeonju Main Store,' in Wansan-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do. This is the third flagship store following last year's cafe-enhanced 'GS25 Hapjeong Premium Store' and region-specialized 'GS25 Suwon Haengridan-gil Store.'
According to GS25's review of last year's regional order proportions for 'Wine25Plus,' more than 70% of liquor purchases from regions other than Seoul came from the Jeonju area. GS25 explained that by introducing liquor-specialized flagship stores in regional hub areas to decentralize liquor infrastructure concentrated in Seoul and the metropolitan area, they aimed to provide local residents with a variety of products and unique experiences.
The flagship store 'GS25 Jeonju Main Store' occupies approximately 198㎡ (60 pyeong), of which about 66㎡ (20 pyeong) is dedicated to liquor space, with the remainder serving as a general store area. To convey the differentiated image of a liquor-specialized store, it was designed with emotional lighting and colored glass, emphasizing a luxurious feel reminiscent of a wine specialty shop. Within the liquor-exclusive space, over 1,000 diverse alcoholic products are prepared, including ▲around 600 types of wine, including the five major Ch?teaux ▲around 300 types of spirits (whiskey, liqueur, vodka) ▲and around 100 types of others (traditional liquors, craft beer).
The general convenience store area is designed overall in a white tone to give a clean impression, while colored glass is applied to the counter and fixtures to provide a unified atmosphere throughout the store. Considering that the surrounding commercial district is a major active street favored by Generation Z within Jeonju-si, GS25 also gave the store the concept of 'Z Planet' to become a local landmark and meeting place.
GS25 expects to expand liquor-specialized stores nationwide and activate the order service of 'Wine25Plus,' becoming the best liquor channel that transcends both offline and online platforms.
