Open Source Consulting Celebrates 10th Anniversary with 'Plogging' Campaign
ESG Management Practice through Plogging Challenge for Environmental Protection
Open Source Consulting, a cloud migration specialist company led by CEO Jang Yong-hoon, announced that it carried out a 'plogging' social contribution activity with its employees to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Plogging is a compound word of the Swedish term 'Plocka Upp' meaning 'to pick up' and the English word 'jogging,' referring to the activity of picking up trash while walking or running. Plogging has been spreading as a representative 'eco-friendly non-face-to-face social contribution activity' amid the rise of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and the spread of COVID-19.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Open Source Consulting conducted this campaign to engage in a more meaningful activity.
Employees of Open Source Consulting collected trash directly from Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park and areas around the Han River, contributing to creating a cleaner community. About 70 employees participated in this plogging campaign, which was conducted in groups of up to six people to comply with social distancing guidelines.
Open Source Consulting also encourages environmental protection campaigns within the company. New employees are provided with tumblers, and efforts are made to minimize the use of disposable and plastic products within the office.
CEO Jang Yong-hoon of Open Source Consulting stated, “We are leading the creation of an eco-friendly culture within the company by implementing various campaigns that can be easily practiced in daily life. We will strengthen corporate social responsibility management for a sustainable future.”
Meanwhile, since its founding in 2012, Open Source Consulting has grown into a strong small and medium-sized enterprise with expertise in cloud and agile fields.
Under the slogan, ‘Sharing Technology, Growing Together,’ the company realizes the value of technology sharing by releasing its self-developed cloud product 'Playce' as open source.
