Namwon-si Implements 'Electric Vehicle Distribution Project' to Improve Air Quality
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk announced on the 11th that it has been implementing the 'Electric Vehicle Private Supply Project' since the 21st of last month to improve air quality and realize a low-carbon green city.
The supply volume for the first half of the year is 210 electric vehicles (70 passenger cars, 140 cargo vehicles), which is an expanded scale compared to last year.
The subsidy amount is up to 15 million KRW for electric passenger cars (an additional 2 million KRW for electric taxis) and up to 22 million KRW for electric cargo vehicles, and the program may close early if the budget is exhausted.
Eligibility for support includes individuals aged 18 or older (including business owners) with a resident registration address in the city for more than three months as of the application date, as well as corporations and organizations registered within the jurisdiction.
Priority support is given to ▲vulnerable groups ▲families with multiple children ▲first-time vehicle buyers ▲those replacing old diesel vehicles with electric vehicles.
However, those who have received subsidy support within the past two years are restricted from applying.
The application method does not require buyers to visit administrative offices separately; after concluding a purchase contract by visiting the manufacturer or seller, they can submit the subsidy application form and other documents.
Subsidies are paid in the order of vehicle delivery and registration, and purchasers who receive subsidy benefits must comply with a mandatory operation period of two years.
