Ulsan '58th Trade Day' Commemoration Event ... 40 Awardees Including 17 Companies Receiving Export Tower
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City and the Ulsan Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association will hold the ‘58th Trade Day Commemoration Event’ at 5 p.m. on the 14th at the Ulsan Lotte Hotel to encourage export companies and contributors who have worked hard to develop overseas markets this year.
About 100 people, including Ulsan City, the Korea International Trade Association, export support related organizations, Trade Day award-winning companies, and officials, will attend this event. It will proceed with presentations of excellent export cases and awards such as the Export Tower and contributor commendations.
Seventeen companies, including Deokyang Industry Co., Ltd. and Hongin Chemical, which pioneered overseas markets amid this year’s difficult external trade environment, will receive the ‘Export Tower.’ These companies have exported amounts ranging from 700 million dollars to 1 million dollars.
Thirteen people will receive government awards, including Han Seok-bong, captain at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, who will be awarded the Iron Tower Industrial Medal; Bae Min-kwon, senior engineer at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, who will receive the Presidential Citation; and Ryu Moon-yeol, executive director at Daekyung ENC, who will receive the Prime Minister’s Citation.
For the Ulsan Mayor’s Commendation, three export meritorious companies?Dongyang Engineering, Donghae ENT, and Geumo Industry?will be awarded, and seven individuals, including Kim Jeong-hyun, deputy general manager at Ecointot, will be selected and commended in the export contributor category.
Additionally, Linno Aluminum, which received the 10 million dollar Export Tower, and Intrust Energy Solution, which received the 1 million dollar Export Tower, will present excellent export cases despite the difficult conditions caused by COVID-19 through active overseas market development.
A Ulsan City official said, “We express our gratitude for the efforts and dedication of company officials who contributed to regional exports and economic development despite difficult economic conditions.”
He also stated, “In 2022, we will actively promote the establishment of a small and medium-sized enterprise export foundation and marketing support projects centered on non-face-to-face marketing to diversify the export markets of local SMEs and enable our companies to play on the global stage.”

Exports from the Ulsan region are expected to recover to 70 billion dollars for the first time in three years this year. As of the end of November, it recorded 68.4 billion dollars.
