WEMAKEPRICE Evolves into 'Meta Shopping'... "Will Become the Google of Commerce"
230,000 Shopping Malls and 700 Million Products Available for Comparison
Style Comparison Service for Fashion and More to Launch This Month
Ha Song: "Strengthening R&D Investment... Providing Optimal Shopping Environment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] E-commerce company Wemakeprice announced on the 13th that it will launch 'Meta Shopping,' utilizing data extracted from 230,000 domestic shopping malls and a total of 700 million products. Unlike other e-commerce companies such as Coupang and TMON, which have taken a quieter approach, Wemakeprice is presenting a new direction for its business.
Wemakeprice's strategy is to combine curation services with artificial intelligence (AI) technology to allow users to easily grasp trends and product information. The goal is to evolve into Meta Shopping, providing a better shopping experience and becoming a Google-like presence in the commerce sector. Meta Shopping offers differentiated services that compare and analyze detailed information such as product features and styles.
A Wemakeprice official said, "Since CEO Ha Song took office in February and declared 'strengthening curation and platform competitiveness,' we have accelerated talent acquisition and research and development (R&D)." He added, "Through this, we have been able to build the nation's top-level 'data lake' (a storage repository for raw, unprocessed data) and our proprietary solution, Search AI."
Wemakeprice's data lake contains a total of over 700 million product data collected from 230,000 shopping malls. Search AI plays the role of aggregating and analyzing this data.
Users can enjoy the 'Product Comparison' service, which allows them to easily compare the features, strengths, and weaknesses of products and brands at a glance. A 'Style Comparison' service, which provides information centered on style-important product keywords such as fashion, accessories, and beauty, is also scheduled to open later this month.
For example, when a user searches for 'washing machine,' the Product Comparison tab selects products frequently searched by users based on price range or specific periods, displaying price, specifications, types, reviews, purchase counts, and key features at a glance. After searching for 'sneakers' and selecting the Style Comparison tab, users can compare products according to various styles such as desired models, colors, and materials.
