According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on this day, the total number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases nationwide was 2,344. This figure represents the sum of confirmed cases from 16 out of 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, excluding Busan, and is 124 fewer than the same time the previous day but 624 more than a week ago on the 15th.
In the metropolitan area, 1,826 new cases were confirmed, while 518 new cases were reported in non-metropolitan areas.
By the 16 metropolitan cities and provinces, the numbers are as follows: Seoul 1,074, Gyeonggi 621, Incheon 131, Chungnam 77, Gyeongnam 71, Gangwon 66, Daejeon 62, Gwangju 55, Gyeongbuk 51, Daegu 48, Jeonbuk and Jeju 23 each, Jeonnam 20, Chungbuk 18, and Ulsan 4. No confirmed cases have been reported yet in Sejong.
