Han Seo-hee, on probation for 'drug use'... Swore in court after being detained
[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] Han Seohee, a former trainee singer who was indicted for drug use during her probation period, has been detained in court. It is reported that Han not only protested to the court during the trial but also used abusive language.
On the 17th, Judge Lee Insu of the Criminal Division 1 at Suwon District Court Seongnam Branch sentenced Han, who was indicted without detention for violating the Narcotics Control Act, to 1 year and 6 months in prison and ordered her detention in court. The court pointed out, "She committed the same crime during the probation period and has consistently made unacceptable excuses rather than sincerely reflecting on her actions."
Han was indicted for using methamphetamine at an unknown location in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, in early June last year during her probation period. She had previously been sentenced to 3 years in prison with a 4-year probation in September 2017 for smoking marijuana.
However, Han denied the charges related to methamphetamine use, claiming, "On June 11 last year, during a urine collection process at Suwon Probation Office, I dropped the paper cup into the toilet, so water from the toilet mixed into the cup, making the urine test results unacceptable."
But the court stated, "The probation officer accompanying Han testified that they did not hear the sound of the paper cup falling, and there was no sign that the cup had fallen into the water. Also, it is not possible that the water supplied through the tap contained methamphetamine."

On the day of her detention in court, when the judge asked, "Do you have anything to say?" Han protested harshly, saying, "I am not going to run away. Judge, what are you doing now?" It is also reported that she used abusive language, saying 'xx really,' while being moved to the defendant's waiting room.
