[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] It has been found that there are as many as 100,000 child households living in poor housing conditions within Gyeonggi Province. Gyeonggi Province is promoting a 'Child Housing Poverty Household Clean Service Pilot Project' targeting these households.
The province announced on the 24th that it will carry out the child housing poverty household clean service for 22 households in the Suwon, Goyang, Bucheon, and Siheung areas by the end of this year.
The target households for the project are those living below the minimum housing standards (less than 43㎡ for a family of four), residing in basements or rooftop rooms, and having children under the age of 18. These households were recommended by city and county housing welfare centers.
The province will allocate a budget of approximately 2.5 million KRW per household to provide services including ▲ mold and pest removal ▲ wallpaper and flooring replacement ▲ cleaning, storage, and organizing services ▲ and support for appliances such as air conditioners, washing machines, rice cookers, desks, and beds.
After the pilot project concludes, the province plans to conduct a satisfaction survey and consider expanding the project next year.
