"Cable TV Excellence Gathered in One Place" 2021 Cable TV Broadcasting Awards Held
2021 Cable TV Broadcasting Awards, Live Online Broadcast on the 14th at 3 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association announced that it will hold the ‘2021 Cable TV Broadcasting Awards,’ the only paid broadcasting awards ceremony encompassing domestic comprehensive cable TV operators (SO) and broadcasting channel usage operators (PP), on the afternoon of the 14th at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.
Now in its 26th year, the Cable TV Broadcasting Awards recognize content works that have led domestic broadcasting trends and honor outstanding contributors to cable TV. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on the event’s official YouTube channel.
At the ceremony, a total of 77 awards will be presented, including 21 commendations from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Communications Commission, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as SO and PP content awards and individual and group awards totaling 56.
The PP content awards were given to the following grand prize winners by category: ▲Drama ‘The Uncanny Counter’ (OCN), ▲Entertainment ‘Sister’s Slam Dunk’ (E Channel), ▲Culture and Arts Documentary ‘Monthly Connect’ (tvN), ▲Documentary ‘Investigation Report "Record"’ (YTN), and ▲Children’s program ‘Shinbi Apartment’ (Tooniverse).
PP special awards included ▲New Media Award ‘Forced to Do It! Starting Exercise Today!’ (IHQ) and ▲VOD Award ‘Crash Landing on You’ (tvN). ‘Korea Job Broadcasting’ was recognized for its contribution to activating SO/PP content exchange cooperation and operating the Cable TV Joint Production Cooperation Group, receiving the ▲PP Channel Award.
The SO content awards were given to eight works across three categories. ▲News Grand Prize winners included ‘Ten Years Since the Yeonpyeong Island Shelling, Unhealed Wounds’ (SK Broadband Namdong Broadcasting), ‘House Approved for Completion but Inaccessible’ (HCN), ‘Suspicious Mask Transactions Between Nowon District Office and Incumbent Council Member Couple’ (D’Live Nowon Digital OTT Broadcasting), and the series ‘Crisis of Local Universities’ (LG HelloVision Special Reporting Team).
▲Regular Program Grand Prize winners were ‘Ulsan Table’ (JCN Ulsan Broadcasting) and ‘Kim Ki-beom’s Neighborhood Solver’ (CMB Gwangju East Broadcasting). ▲Special Feature Grand Prize winners were ‘A Thousand Faces, Jeju Wetlands’ (KCTV Jeju Broadcasting) and ‘Disasters Created by Humanity, Building Winds Blow!’ (SK Broadband Southeast Broadcasting).
