Official Launch of Tenant Legal Support Center 'Seipja114'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] On the 4th, which is 'World Habitat Day,' the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy officially launched the Tenant Legal Support Center 'Seipja114.'
The center was established mainly by Mindalpaengi Union, the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy's Livelihood Hope Headquarters, the Minbyun Civil Rights Lawyers' Committee on Livelihood Economy, and individual members related to the housing movement, all of whom have been active in guaranteeing tenants' housing rights.
Seipja114 provides legal support to those renting housing and promotes policy development and system improvement based on consultation cases. Tenants seeking consultation can receive free legal advice from lawyers on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The center currently offers consultations mainly for tenants in Seoul and the metropolitan area but plans to gradually expand its activity areas.

Lee Kang-hoon, the newly appointed head of Seipja114 and an executive member of the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy's Livelihood Hope Headquarters (lawyer), said, "There have been tenant organizations, but there were not many organizations that professionally support and provide legal consultations for them. We expect to carry out more activities in solidarity with existing tenant organizations."
