"Stop Using Parents' Cards"... Hana Bank Launches 'Ibuja Card' for Generation Z
Prepaid Card to Spend 'Yongdon' Collected on the Experiential Financial Platform Aibuja App
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Hana Bank announced on the 26th that it has launched the 'Ibuja Card,' a prepaid card for Generation Z.
The Ibuja Card is a prepaid card that allows Generation Z to experience spending using allowance collected through the 'Ibuja Application (app)' with a card issued in the name of the Generation Z member themselves, instead of the card they previously used from their 'eomppa' (a neologism referring to both mom and dad).
Children members can apply directly via mobile without any age restrictions through personal mobile phone authentication, without needing bank transactions or account opening. Especially, children under 14 years old can apply with parental consent via their parents' mobile phones, and the card can be used without any annual fees or additional charges.
The card can be conveniently used at all credit card-affiliated stores nationwide, and users can also select the T-money prepaid transportation card function, allowing usage at T-money accepted places such as public transportation. However, usage is restricted in certain youth-harmful industries. For those aged 14 and above, the usage limit is up to 500,000 KRW per transaction and per day, while for children under 14, the limit is set at 50,000 KRW per transaction and per day, with a monthly maximum of 500,000 KRW.
