Seoul City Supports Green SMEs Market Expansion with 'Green Products Online Exhibition'
Various Green SMEs Participate, Expanding Consumer Product Choices
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 24th that it will hold the 'Seoul Green Products Online Exhibition,' selling high-quality green products on TMON (2nd round) until next month 12th, and on Gmarket (3rd round) from October 11th to October 31st, to support green small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
This exhibition was organized to help green SMEs based in Seoul, which lack the capability to develop online sales channels. Especially, companies that have had fewer opportunities to showcase their products directly to consumers due to COVID-19 can secure new sales channels, and customers can purchase practical green products at more affordable prices.
In the first online exhibition held in July, 18 green SMEs participated, achieving total sales of 147 million KRW, and in the upcoming 2nd and 3rd exhibitions, 8 additional green SMEs will join, expanding consumers' choices of green products.
The Seoul Green Industry Support Center, which organizes the exhibition, is building a green industry policy infrastructure by supporting green SMEs not only in online sales but also from startup to prototype production. Through operating such customized support programs for green SMEs, it plans to actively support Seoul-style green industries.
