Damyang-gun Cultural Foundation Launches 'Cheongchun Returns' Program for Seniors
Cheonbyeon-ri Jeongmi Dabang Plays a Key Role in Revitalizing Old Downtown Spaces Through Cultural and Arts Programs
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang County Cultural Foundation announced on the 11th that it is continuously promoting participatory cultural and artistic programs for local residents centered around Cheonbyeon-ri Jeongmi Dabang to revitalize the hub space in Damyang’s old downtown area.
The program "Cheongchun Returns," which has been held weekly since last May and is now in its sixth session, targets the senior generation, a vulnerable group in cultural and artistic sectors, helping them regain the vitality of daily life lost due to COVID-19 through various content, and contributes to dementia prevention and confidence enhancement.
In the first half of this year (May to July), the program is held every Monday from 2 PM to 4 PM, and in the second half (September to November), it plans to expand the target audience without age or regional restrictions, accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also, the Jeongmi Salon performance program at Jeongmi Dabang, now in its third year of operation, provides visitors with performances in various genres, enhancing accessibility to culture and arts and playing a vital role as a local cultural gathering place accompanied by music.
Jeongmi Salon, held every Saturday from 12:30 PM for about two hours, offers high-quality performances featuring traditional Korean instruments such as violin, flute, piano, saenghwang, and 25-string gayageum, as well as Western instruments.
