[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has established a dedicated space for out-of-school youth, the 'Seongbuk-gu Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim,' in a standalone building.
The facility was relocated to a building in Dongseon-dong, and a plaque ceremony was held on the 27th.
Seongbuk-gu secured the space for the Youth Support Center by converting an existing youth cultural facility to meet the increasing demand from out-of-school youth.
Additionally, last year, the center was finally selected in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's 'Out-of-School Youth Dedicated Space Creation Project' competition, enabling the creation of a dedicated space providing tailored support for out-of-school youth.
The Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim was designed through consultations with youth to offer various experiences and learning opportunities for out-of-school youth.
▲ The basement level 1 houses a rehearsal room and club space for art clubs ▲ The ground floor 1 features a self-reliance support space for various job and career experiences ▲ The 2nd floor includes counseling rooms for emotional support ▲ The 3rd floor is equipped with a study cafe to help focus on academics.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “We will spare no effort to support youth who might otherwise fall into blind spots outside the formal system, so that through the Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim, they can gain opportunities for learning and challenges and freely pursue their dreams.”
Meanwhile, the Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim is always open to out-of-school youth. The center not only serves as a stable protective space but also operates customized programs such as academic support, self-reliance, counseling, and health support projects to help out-of-school youth gain diverse learning and challenge opportunities, communicate with society, and move toward their dreams.
