Seoul Women's University Signs Public-Private-Academic Partnership Agreement for Social Innovation Project
Cooperation between Jeonju City, Jeonbuk National University, Korea Habitat, and POSCO Construction
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Seoul Women’s University is conducting a public-private-academic cooperation social innovation project to improve the housing conditions of residents in vulnerable areas and create a community where people live together harmoniously.
On the 28th, Seoul Women’s University announced that it signed a business agreement for the public-private-academic cooperation social innovation project with Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do, Jeonbuk National University, Habitat for Humanity Korea, and POSCO Construction. Representatives in charge attended the signing ceremony held online.
They united their intentions to carry out the ‘Public-Private-Academic Cooperation Community Social Innovation Project’ aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in urban vulnerable areas and fostering a community where people live together. Each institution will provide administrative and financial support as well as academic and technical advice.
Starting with a launch ceremony on the 30th involving 24 students from Seoul Women’s University and Jeonbuk National University, the project will proceed with online preliminary education, online live field visits, and a 3-day, 2-night field activity.

Last year, Seoul Women’s University collaborated with Uijeongbu City, Habitat for Humanity Korea, and POSCO Construction on the first public-private-academic cooperation social innovation project titled ‘Creating Sinheung Village Together,’ contributing to the revitalization of the village community. This year, the project will be conducted with different participating regions and institutions.
