[Asia Economy Reporter Jumi Lee] A man in his 40s who pulled down his pants and underwear and committed an obscene act in front of a female student was sentenced to probation.
On the 22nd, the Daegu District Court Pohang Branch Criminal Division 3 (Judge Jinsook Park) announced that A (41), who was indicted for violating the Child Welfare Act and public obscenity, was sentenced to 6 months in prison with 2 years of probation. He was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.
The court stated the sentencing reason, "The defendant has a prior record of receiving a suspended indictment with educational conditions for public obscenity, yet committed the crime again in this case. The defendant's obscene act in front of a child obstructed the child's healthy growth and proper sexual awareness formation, and the culpability is not light."
A was tried on charges of pulling down his pants and underwear to expose his private parts and masturbating after making eye contact with B (16), who was talking with a friend near Jukdo Park in Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk Province, around 7:55 p.m. on October 25 last year.
