Wemade Pursues Acquisition of Cryptocurrency Exchange 'Bithumb'
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Wemade is reportedly considering acquiring the cryptocurrency trading site 'Bithumb.'
According to industry sources on the 15th, Wemade is discussing terms to acquire the shares owned by Lee Jung-hoon, chairman of Bithumb Holdings and Bithumb Korea. The sale price is said to be higher than the 500 billion KRW offered by NXC but lower than 700 billion KRW.
Wemade is a company engaged in blockchain-related businesses. Through its blockchain-specialized subsidiary Wemade Tree, it issues the cryptocurrency 'Wemix' and services blockchain-based games such as 'Bird Tornado for Wemix' and 'Jaeshin Jeongi for Wemix.' If Wemade acquires Bithumb, synergy is expected in related businesses.
