Saneun Delivers Donations to Crime Victims in Welfare Blind Spots
Support totaling 630 million KRW provided over 43 instances
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] On the 8th, Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced that it selected three victims and families suffering in welfare blind spots among crime victims as the 43rd beneficiaries of the 'KDB Warm Companionship' sponsorship program, and delivered a total of 30 million KRW in sponsorship funds, 10 million KRW each.
This sponsorship is a project to support the social reintegration and recovery of crime victims, established through a business agreement between KDB and the National Police Agency in February 2017, selecting victims and families recommended by the police.
Through this project, support is provided for aftereffects, medical expenses, and the return to normal family and social life for victims with heartbreaking stories, including a victim who was hospitalized in the intensive care unit after being injured while preventing drunk driving that could have led to a major accident, a victim who sacrificed themselves to minimize casualties in a random stabbing incident, and a victim who overcame alcohol addiction and a rare disease caused by domestic violence with the responsibility of raising children.
At the sponsorship fund delivery ceremony held at the Bangbae Police Station in Seoul on the day, Park Seon-gyeong, Head of KDB's Management Division, and Kim Sang-moon, Chief of Bangbae Police Station, comforted a victim who had resigned from work and become a basic livelihood security recipient due to aftereffects of an accident. The two organizations also pledged to cooperate further for the self-support and independence of crime victims.
