[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The appearance of the first general hospital building to be established in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul has been decided.
On the 26th, Seoul City announced that the architectural plan for Geumcheon General Hospital, to be built on the former Korea Electric Wire site in front of Geumcheon-gu Office Station, was approved at the architectural committee meeting held on the 23rd.
According to the plan, the hospital will be constructed on a 24,720.6㎡ site at 996 Siheung-dong, with 810 beds, consisting of 5 basement floors and 18 above-ground floors, and is scheduled for completion in 2025. Three floors will be used as public offices related to health. The total floor area is planned to be 177,286.27㎡, with a building coverage ratio of 51.48% and a floor area ratio of 360.95% applied.
The hospital building will utilize a Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) system to maximize the use of renewable energy, and the lower floors will feature patterned designs and natural exterior plans to create a friendly and warm image, making it a new landmark of Geumcheon-gu. Additionally, the publicly accessible space within the hospital site will be developed into a park with forests and walking trails, providing a large 3,300㎡ green resting area where patients and nearby residents can relax. The hospital construction was proposed by Booyoung Housing, the landowner.
