Elon Musk, Tesla's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), announced on his Twitter on the 24th, "You can now purchase a Tesla with Bitcoin," adding, "Outside the United States, Bitcoin payments will be available starting at the end of this year."

Musk also stated, "Tesla uses only internal and open-source software and operates its own Bitcoin nodes," and added, "Bitcoin payments made to Tesla will not be converted into fiat currency but will be retained as Bitcoin."
