Hanwha Q CELLS Selected as 'Top Solar Brand' in Europe and Australia
Europe Recognized as No.1 for 8 Consecutive Years... Australia Acknowledged as No.1 for 6 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoonju Hwang] Hanwha Q CELLS has been selected as the 'Top Brand PV' in Europe for 8 consecutive years and in Australia for 6 consecutive years. This award is given by EUPD Research, a solar energy specialized research institute, based on customer surveys evaluating brand awareness and market penetration in the European and Australian solar markets.
Since 2010, starting in Germany, EUPD has annually awarded the 'Top Brand PV' in three product categories: solar modules, inverters, and energy storage systems. Hanwha Q CELLS has been recognized as the top brand in the European solar module sector since 2014. From 2016, when EUPD expanded its survey scope to Australia, Hanwha Q CELLS has also received the Top Brand PV award there every year. Hanwha Q CELLS' sustained strong brand power in Europe and Australia is attributed to its excellent product reputation through rigorous quality control and proactive customer management via a robust local partner network.
Hanwha Q CELLS has conducted quality management under conditions up to three times more stringent than the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) quality inspection standards. In December last year, it became the first in the industry to obtain certification under the newly introduced Quality Controlled PV (QCPV) inspection by T?V Rheinland, a global verification organization. T?V Rheinland developed this world-class quality certification program to more strictly verify the production process, performance, and durability of solar modules.
Additionally, in May last year, Hanwha Q CELLS was selected as a 'Top Performer' company for the fifth consecutive year in the '2020 PV Module Reliability Scorecard' conducted by global solar verification institutions DNV GL and PVEL.
Customer management through Hanwha Q CELLS' local partner program, 'Q.PARTNER,' also played a key role in being selected as a top brand in the European and Australian markets. Hanwha Q CELLS has over 1,800 Q.PARTNERs in Europe and cooperates with more than 100 Q.PARTNERs in Australia. The company supports active customer management by providing various cooperative services such as online and offline training and joint marketing to Q.PARTNERs.
Kim Hee-chul, President of Hanwha Q CELLS, stated, "Hanwha Q CELLS has been loved by customers for a long time because thorough quality control and local channel strategies have supported us," adding, "We will continue to prioritize customer satisfaction and supply world-class products and services."

Meanwhile, Hanwha Q CELLS is evolving into a total energy solution company by actively entering power plant development and electricity sales businesses, leveraging its expertise in solar cells and modules. Hanwha Q CELLS acquired solar power project rights of 940MW and 429MW from Spain's RIC Energy in December 2019 and November 2020, respectively. In August last year, it secured the first 315MW solar power project in Portugal combined with an energy storage system. In the electricity sales and distributed power business, it achieved 100,000 household subscriptions for Q.ENERGY, a German residential power supply service, in January this year.
