From March to May Last Year, 2,900 LH Employees Committed 'Travel Expense Fraud'... Embezzling 500 Million Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] It has been confirmed that 2,900 employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) falsely claimed and received travel expenses totaling 500 million won over three months.
According to Kim Eun-hye, a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee from the People Power Party, 2,898 employees fraudulently received travel expenses amounting to 492.28 million won from March to May last year.
The investigation was conducted under the direction of Byun Chang-heum, the current Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, during his tenure as LH president. LH recovered the fraudulently claimed travel expenses from the employees but did not take any significant personnel actions against them.

Nevertheless, the ethics management index evaluated internally by LH increased annually, scoring 72.4 in 2017, 77.8 in 2018, and 79.2 in 2019.
