‘Enzyme Doctor’ Professor Shin Hyun-jae of Chosun University Publishes Book ‘Healing Enzymes’
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Chosun University announced on the 9th that Professor Shin Hyun-jae of the Department of Life Chemistry and Polymer Engineering at the College of Engineering has published a book titled Healing Enzymes, based on his research on enzymes that play a key role in the body's metabolic activities.
Professor Shin is known as the "Enzyme Doctor" for his efforts to promote scientific approaches and popularization of enzymes.
His book approaches the healing roles of enzymes in specific diseases, focusing on research and clinical cases from various countries around the world.
It also explores the history of enzyme therapy, from the research initiated by Dr. John Beard to modern scientists, and provides updated information on the latest research and clinical data, offering diverse insights into new enzyme therapies.
Additionally, the book explains the effects of enzymes in connection with various conditions such as immunity, aging, menopausal disorders, digestion, obesity, diabetes, vascular diseases, arthritis, and atopic dermatitis.
Professor Shin researches efficient utilization methods of various biological resources centered on enzymes and carbohydrates. He has served as a visiting senior researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) and as CEO and head of the research institute at enzyme-specialized company NG Bank Co., Ltd.

Professor Shin stated, "Although there is an abundance of information about enzymes recently, much of it lacks expertise. This book started from the aim to widely inform the correct concepts and roles of enzymes from the perspectives of enzyme nutrition and enzyme therapy, and it will serve as a friendly guide in this era where 'health management using enzymes' is gaining attention."
